Nearly two kilometres of stone ramparts, built between the 13th and 17th centuries and never breached, ring the Old Town. The full circuit climbs to 25 m, passes five fortresses including Minčeta and Lovrijenac, and looks down on the terracotta rooftops the city replaced after the 1991–92 siege.
